Project Linus Horse Quilts

I snagged a lot of horse prints at a Project Linus Give-away. None were more than a yard, but there were several different ones. Some needed to remain in big blocks to be able to see the pattern. This is just channel quilted – long line of quilting going from top to bottom. The back is brown flannel.

This shows a detail of the quilting and the backing. The binding is an interesting print of tack/harness – straps, bits, rings and buckles.

Still a lot of horse pints left, so I made another quilt with variable sized blocks. I sized it so I could use a flannel cowboy print on the back. I consider one of the challenges of making quilts for Project Linus is to obtain appropriate pieces of fabric big enough for quilt backings so I don’t have to buy more fabric.

It’s quilted with an all-over diamond pattern.
