Basket Weave Quilt

I had not done a basket weave quilt before. When I unearthed a jellyroll of 2″ strips I had bought on impulse some time ago, it was time to try. I had just enough lavender fabric left from Laurie’s ‘Aunt Betty’ quilt to use for the background.

These strips came as a coordinated set. What do you think? It’s just big enough for a lap quilt to cover your legs watching TV on a cool night.

This is the first time I have used MINKY fabric for a quilt back. It’s a plush, textured polyester fabric, oh so soft. It’s a soft lavender color too. Much to my relief, the quilting went smoothly using a walking foot.
