My Cousin Mel Bargeron worked for the National Fish Hatchery, loved to fish and loved to eat fish.   So it seems fitting to turn his ties into fish for his memorial quilt.  The fins are parts of contrasting ties or other remnants.  The dorsal ( top ) fin is a 3-D ruffle.   Little circles cut from the ties are appliqued into the light blue corner pieces in hopes they would look like bubbles.

This piece is quilted horizontally with a wavy stitch.
