This is from a pieced paper pattern I bought online.  Kayla Stewart invites our bookclub to her beach house every year.   Many of the other members had given her things they had made for the beach house – paintings, collages, wall hangings, even a quilt.   When Kayla said she was looking for something to hang on the upstairs rail that overlooks the living room, I was motivated to make this.

For the back I found a really cute undersea print with fish, starfish, happy purple jellyfish, seahorses and clams in colors that complement the front.
