I made this after my father died.  Death and Mortality were heavy on my mine and I had all this gothic fabric left from Greg’s quilt.  It’s the Kaleidoscope pattern, modified to extend into the border.  Mostly  black and white – only some tiny touches of color like silk flowers in a winter graveyard.   Very therapeutic.

Being frugal myself, I used pieced some grey fabric for the back.  Not quite wide enough.  So I added some strips in the middle.  At a casual glance the bordering strips look like lace, but are rather grim on close inspection.
