Jean’s husband had dozens of T-shirts from races he had run – about half were Atlanta Peachtree Road Races. No way could I fit 42 T-shirts into one quilt top – it would have been larger than king! So this is the first quilt I have made with blocks on both sides.
Of course this meant I could not do quilting in the blocks, so I did an overall diagonal quilting pattern. To compensate, I top-stitched the sashing around each block before assembling the quilt.
The orange fabric has bear tracks on it – a common sight where Bob and Jean live now. The batik binding has both orange and green in it.
