Ramona’s Birthday Quilt My friend Ramona gave me a huge bag of scraps from her apron and costume making. When I got invited to a surprise birthday party for her, making a quilt seemed a good way to pay her back. Many of the fabrics were Christmas prints and most of the quilt front is fabric Ramona gave me. It’s a rag quilt, with a flannel back and an inner layer of flannel for weight and warmth. The seams are on the front and fringed(“ragged”). Washing and drying gets bushels of cut threads out and makes the fringe fluffy. Here’s a picture of the back, which is smooth since the seams are on the front.
