For a couple of years, I’ve been saving strips trimmed from quilt backs and leftover strips. This quilt from June/July 2014 QUILT magazine looked like a good way to use some up. I didn’t like the name – Spring Cleaning. That’s like naming a quilt “Mopping the Kitchen”. Also instead of using light prints in the areas between the stars, I used mostly white and light neutrals. I think it defined the stars better.
This is a monster, finishing up at 90×90!
I’ve been wanting to make something for my friend Gary for years,so when she said she liked this, she got it.
This shows the print I used for the backing. It took over 7 yards. Thank heavens for sales and coupons!
