Aunt Eloise was amazing. She always enjoyed fabric, sewing and quilting. Although she lived in a nursing home, she managed to collect boxes of fabric for me. Some was new, some remnants, and some looked like cut-up clothing. I’d take it home, run it through the washer & dryer, keep what I liked and pass the rest on.
I wanted to thank her, so I made her a quilt, using lots of her fabric. I told her that she could use it, sell it or give it away – no strings. She chose to give it to her great-grandson.
